What Is Celebrate America?

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne, with Revival Ministries International, are looking forward to Celebrate America just as they did in the summer of 1999 when, for six weeks consecutively, they rented Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena, for Good News New York!

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne are inviting local churches, the community, and members of government, in which many of them will be sharing their faith, and all nationalities to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 239 years old. During Celebrate America, we will commemorate the Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember The Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact of which they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come. Celebrate America.

Dear Friends,

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne invite you to join them for Celebrate America this July in Washington D.C. at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Constitution Hall. Just as we looked forward to Good News New York in the summer of 1999 at Madison Square Garden, we are looking forward to this event.

Local churches, the community, members of government (many of whom will be sharing their faith), all Americans, and anyone, from any nation, who loves America, are invited to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 238 years old. During these 14 days of Celebrate America, we will commemorate the United States Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember the Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come.

Pastors, leaders, church groups, youth groups, and all believers, all around America, we ask you to begin praying for America, her leaders, and for Celebrate America. And we also encourage you to make plans to join us and to be a part of this very timely event.

The evening meetings are at 7 PM; admission is free. In the mornings, Power Evangelism will take place at 10 AM. Call, email, Facebook, and Tweet your friends and family to attend and to get involved; volunteers are needed. Sign up today.

I took the task of organizing and cleaning the hospitality warehouse.  It is much more involved than it sounds, but I have discovered is that I have been previously trained for this very time.  I worked many jobs in my life and given various responsibilities in management, supervision, inventory control, manufacturing and much more.  I’m now able to use these skills for ministry.  There are times I ask myself, can I keep up this pace that is expected of me?  Much to my surprise I can say yes, the Lord has given me his grace and I’m actually able to handle the longer hours that are required.  As I press in to what God has for me I find a renewed reliance in the Holy Spirit to show me how and what to do, and that has kept me going.   When the day starts I think, I’ve got it all worked out, then BOOM!  It is not that way at all, everything changes.  It’s during these times that I have learned so much by watching my department manager.  She will shift gears with a smile and proceed as if nothing happened unexpectedly.  I want to follow her example.  Our department is very physical with serving, shopping, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and planning events.  All we do affects many people and our ability to do it well can make the difference to those we serve.  I’m being stretched beyond my original comfort zone, but as I step out to do my assignments I see Gods grace working in me. I’m committed to just submit to the process and learn all I can.  I take serving others very seriously; I can make the event relaxing, enjoyable or frustrating.  Any unmet expectations would be in how I feel about my own abilities to do my job well.

Internship is such a great opportunity to really be instructed by God on how to trust Him COMPLETELY, no matter what the situation is. I’ve learned to spend time in prayer everyday; making my request known to Him and laying my burdens at His feet.  I have seen dramatic results since I have learned to walk by faith.  The Holy Spirit has been my guide, comforter and helper.  The world around me may seem a big mess at times, but I can still smile and be confident because I know God has come through for me time and time again and He will continue to show Himself strong in my life.

My life continues to be a testimony to those around me that no matter what the situation; God is at work and He works everything out for our good just as His word says.  I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do through this entire experience!

To be honest, this month for me has been a little difficult.  But through the grace of God, I have made it this far.  So for me, the Lord has been keeping me focused on achieving my goals of finishing internship.  I tell you, you really have to keep your heart right; it makes things a lot easier.  I have to keep my heart right, no matter what goes on throughout the day.  The Lord has been keeping gas in my car even when I’m not working.  The Lord is so good! Even when you’re not in the best attitude he still blesses you.  The Lord has helped me to not stay upset at fellow interns that I work with.  I tell you offense when you really think about it, is pride.  Because all you have to do is forgive and let go.  Now there are times where that can be really difficult.  For the most part it’s pity that you can just ignore and forgive.  Because if Jesus being beaten, mocked, and accused of doing something he didn’t do, and say father forgive them for they know not what they do,  we can forgive things our brothers and sisters do to us at times.  So those offenses you have to cast out.  You can allow little pity things to get you out of the will of God by not dealing with them when they’re in our faces.  That’s what the Lord has done for me this month.

Christianity, to me, was just going to church on Sunday mornings and attending a youth group event whenever there was one.  I never really understood the true meaning of having a relationship with Jesus Christ because I thought that since I was going to church that it was my ticket to heaven. I had a Bible but I didn’t read it and I only prayed when the pastor told us to bow our heads and close our eyes.  I kept being told the Word of God was my manual and that it would help guide me throughout my life.  It was true! The point came where I finally realized that I truly needed to get closer to Jesus. I had been lukewarm.

My Sundays and Wednesdays were for church but the other five days of the week I gave to the world.  Once I realized that I had hit a low suddenly I wasn’t influenced by the party scene anymore.  I got on my knees and humbled myself before God. I started to read the Word little by little and before I knew it I couldn’t go a day without reading it.  My whole character began to change.  I was no longer angry, I began to choose my words carefully and my friends were beginning to notice a change in me.  I feel in my spirit that I have a close relationship with God now and I finally understand what being a true Christian is all about.

Rodney Howard Browne – Betty Testimony

I’ve been attending services at the River Church since the 4th of July.  I have had the privilege of being feed the word of God through Pastor Dr. Rodney Howard Brown and his amazing and loving wife Pastor Adonica Brown .  I’ve been a born again Christian since I was 9 year old when my grandmother lead me on my knees to the Lord while visiting her in North Carolina.  I have the honor as the only grandchild out of 15 grandchildren to carry her name (Nora Jane ) as my middle name as she named me Betty for my first name meaning consecrated to God.  She was like the mother of Jesus, pure, holy, righteous, humble, meek, gentle, loving, giving, so Christ-like, and just beautiful inside and out.

Rodney Howard Browne – Connie Testimony

I am looking for the chance to say the word to set God’s people free. I got what the people need, the word of God, I just saw like Pastor Rodney. I am forever changed by this Pastor Rodney, the sewer, is sowing.

The sewer, the one we are talking about here is Pastor Rodney how he is sewing the word to us. We are to make sure not to harden our hearts to receive it, we are to make sure not to get distracted and be a careless hearer, we are the ones to not allow the Devil’s work to get in our way of being a hearer and a doer of the word sown to us, and we will become unfruitful.
